Back in Abu Dhabi I already had the front covered in film, and I was happy with the shop. Now the same car needs a few extra panels done, and I have no idea who to trust here. A colleague told me the process is the same everywhere, but another one said Dubai shops are much busier and rush the work. I did some reading and found a Complete guide to car PPF installation in Dubai, which said that the steps are washing, paint checks, cutting, fitting and a final inspection, and that the quality depends more on the room and the installer than on the city. That made sense, but I still have questions for people who live here. Do Dubai shops charge more than Abu Dhabi for the same job? Is it okay to add new panels next to old film, or will the colours look different after a year in the sun? How do I make sure the new pieces line up with what is already on the car? I also wonder about waiting time. Do shops here keep the car for two days, or can some finish in one? And does the warranty from my old shop still count, or does the new work need its own paper? If you added film to a car that already had some, please tell me how it turned out, what you paid, and what you would do differently. Easy answers help me most.
